New Beginnings: March

Having made new years resolutions at the beginning of January and - bang on schedule - given them up a week later, I decided that perhaps it would be easier to make monthly goals for myself.

It hasn't worked out well so far.

Here are a few of my goals for March that I hope to achieve.

  • Exercise daily - My sister-in-law and I both sat down and decided yesterday that we want to lose some weight before our holidays (hers in August, mine in September) and so we're going to try and help each other. I think that having someone there to motivate you throughout the hard parts of losing weight is so helpful and I'm so grateful we're in the same boat. We've so far decided to do the 30 day shred as often as we can and we're going to start going on long walks to a park then doing some exercises there. I'm also going to be going to the gym every day or if I can't make it, doing a workout from my Womans Health app.
  • Drink 2 litres of water a day - I'm always reading about how beneficial this is to a person. Not only does it help with cellulite - which I desperately want gone! - but it also helps with fatigue and concentration levels throughout the day. I definitely need to up my concentration with the amount of work I currently have to do for uni at the moment.
  • Set a bed time/waking up time routine - I'm awful at both going to bed early and getting up on time which is neither healthy nor good for making me look punctual. And I'm constantly tired. So this is a goal that is definitely going to be achieved, no matter how painful I find it!
  • Write a 'To Do' list every day - I never manage to get everything that needs doing, done. So every morning whilst I eat my breakfast I'm going to write a short list of things to do that day. Then simply cross it off as I do it. Hopefully this will encourage me to get more done and realise there really are enough hours in the day! I also think, the more I get done the more I will be motivated to do more (if that makes sense?).
  • Eat better - this ties in nicely with the water and exercise I think. I'm going to start simple with this goal. I just know if I rush into it I'll fail and end up eating bad foods. Getting over your cravings is never easy either - and I'm often craving some dorito's or chocolate. I've already swapped my lunch time sandwiches for salads and my sugary breakfast cereal for yoghurt and fruit. Just need to work on snacks and dinners!

So those are my 5 goals for March! Hopefully at the end of the month I can report back good things and set some new goals for April :-)

What goals do you have for March - or even just in general?
Or do you have some motivational advice for me?
